With all the reports in the press and even the government recommending a daily supplement, is fish oil good for our health or is this another supplement that does not live up to its promises?

Well the good news is that this one actually over-delivers on its promises and can help with a vast array of health issues with the best fish oil good for preventative measures especially.

One of the world’s leading researchers into omega-3, Dr Alex Richardson says that consuming more omega-3 fats is probably the single most important dietary change that most people could ever make to improve their health, with 9 out of 10 of us not receiving enough.

Just some of the many benefits include prevention of heart attacks and strokes, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, better brain health and concentration, an improved immune system and prevention of breast and colon cancer.

Instead of asking what is fish oil good for, perhaps we should ask what it isn’t good for!

It is also recommended for pregnant women as it can improve the baby’s development, eyesight and lead to less behavioral problems later on. It also helps the mother with a healthier pregnancy, lower risk of post natal depression and less risk of a premature birth.

All this just from one natural substance!

Presently some of the best oil in the world comes from New Zealand Hoki fish as they are high in the important omega 3 fatty acid DHA and very low in contamination.

To completely avoid any contaminants from the fish ensure the oil has been molecularly distilled to remove them and leave safe, pure concentrated oil, and ensure the DHA level is at least double the EPA one for the most rewards.

Recent studies have also shown how fish oil is good for the skin, helping to stop the aging process and help with ailments like acne and psoriasis.

With more research ongoing, there is no doubt we will find fish oil good for many more things and the potential to save even more lives than it does today with more widespread use.

This truly is one supplement that lives up to all the hype and over-delivers on its promises.

If you are suffering from acne or other skin problems, you will sooner or later discover blackheads somewhere on your face. Almost anyone has had blackheads at some point. Lets take a look at what causes blackheads and how they form on the skin. Next we take a look at how you can remove them and most importantly what you can do to prevent them from forming again in the future.

What Are Blackheads?

Blackheads form when the oil producing glands in the skin produce too much oil and it collects in a skin pore. As the oil begins to harden, the blackhead forms. The top of the blackhead is exposed to air, which is causing it to dry out faster and turns it black. This gives the blackhead its signature look (and of course its name).

We still dont understand exactly what causes the excess oil production in the glands of the skin. Hormonal changes and other imbalances in the body seem to play a role.

How Can I Remove Blackheads?

You should never just try to squeeze a blackhead out since this could damage the skin and lead to infections.

Instead, place a warm compress on the affected area to soften both the skin and the hardened oil plug that forms the blackhead. Then using some gloves or a clean cloth or tissue, gently try to squeeze the blackhead out. If gentle pressure doesnt do the job, try softening it up with warm compress again.

There are also some commercial blackhead remover tools or blackhead extractors available. Discuss the use of one of these with your dermatologist.

How Can I Prevent Blackheads?

Of course the best way to fight blackheads is to prevent them in the first place. Start by cleaning your face daily with a gentle cleanser that doesnt dry your skin out. Using a harsh cleanser can actually lead to excessive oil production, which we are trying to avoid.

Use a gentle exfoliating mask weekly to remove dead skin cells and improve circulation on your skin.

Avoid oily creams, lotions and makeup. Use a gentle moisturizer instead.

Drink plenty of water and get out in the sunshine daily whenever possible for healthy, well-balanced skin.

By implementing these suggestions, you should see an improvement in your skin and the amount of blackheads within a matter of weeks.br
